Dubolik

Dubolik’s musical journey began in the early 90s when he became involved in the ex-Yugoslavian punk and DIY scene. For years, he played guitar in the anarcho-hardcore/punk band Radikalna Promjena. Over time, his musical interests evolved, shifting from punk to reggae and eventually gravitating towards dub music. In 2002, Dubolik co-founded Radikal Dub Kolektiv, Croatia’s first live dub band. Shortly after, he helped establish an offshoot project called Radikal Dub Sound, composed of three RDK members. This project embraced heavyweight digital dub style, with Dubolik taking on the role of live dub mixer and producer. It was during this period that he realized his future lay more in studio production and mixing. After RDK disbanded, Dubolik and former bandmate Vanja launched a new live dub project called Dubble and set up record label named Dub Tunnel. Dubble’s sound leaned heavily on UK-style dub, infused with subtle elements of trance and electronic music to create a distinctive blend of futuristic dub. Currently, Dubolik focuses on writing music, remixing, live performances, and collaborating with other musicians and producers. His style is a fusion of the diverse projects and genres he’s explored over the years, ranging from roots and trance-inspired dub to heavyweight digital steppers. Dubolik’s passion for music production, studio equipment, and his mastery of dub techniques continue to push him into uncharted sonic territories,exploring where no echo has gone before.
