Rifka, born and raised in Brighton is an exciting new artist to emerge from this creative city. Since the early age of 10 she has shown a natural gift for the art of songwriting, cultivated in a home filled with music. As she began to write she discovered the catharsis of exploring the depths of her own emotions and the complexities of growing up in the modern world. With this raw vulnerability, Rifka’s arrival to the music scene offers an invitation to dive deep into the soulful, melancholic and curious world of a young woman with her eyes wide open. Singing with disarming maturity, Rifka’s timeless vocal awakens curiosity in the listener, resonating with old and young. Her collaboration with French multi-instrumentalist, producer and arranger Laroye fuses Rifka’s pure heart and soul, mixing past and future, with acoustic and contemporary textures. ‘butterflies in my ears’ is first to feature on this project.
