Silverbacks

Silverbacks are a six-piece band from Ireland, formed by brothers Daniel and Kilian O’Kelly alongside Emma Hanlon, Peadar Kearney, Gary Wickham, and Paul Leamy. Their sound blends angular post-punk with infectious indie, driven by witty, observational lyrics on everyday life, creating something both energetic and unpredictable. Their debut album, Fad (2020), instantly grabbed attention with its sharp energy, earning praise from BBC 6 Music, NME, Stereogum, and more, drawing comparisons to art-punk icons like Parquet Courts and Television. In 2022, Silverbacks followed up with Archive Material, a record that refined their sound and solidified their place in the indie scene, garnering further acclaim. Tours across Ireland, UK, Europe and a first visit to the US followed. With their third album, Easy Being A Winner (October, 2024), Silverbacks continue to experiment with new textures and sounds while maintaining their signature playful and unpredictable style.
