Stundom

The music of Stundom is Nordic in its essence: Inspired by the traditional dance music from their ancestors, the trio invites you into their wondrous immersive world, and mixes folk traditions with classical chamber music and modern symphonic elements. With a blend of the violin, the cittern and the piano, Emma Kragh-Elmpe, Villads Hoffmann and Julian Svejgaard share a unique musical chemistry and ability to create capturing melodies. Stundom is one of the most acclaimed groups of New Nordic Folk Music in Denmark today, and the trio has been nominated for the Danish Music Awards Roots/Folk several times, e.g. "Artist of the Year" and "Album of the Year" at Danish Music Awards Roots in 2024 and 2022. The name Stundom is an old Nordic word which means "from time to time". A reflection of the mission of the trio; to create new music in the present, inspired by the times that went before, for the times that will come. In 2024, Stundom released their third studio album 'Hvis ikke de er dode, lever de endnu' following their critically acclaimed album 'mà jeg holde din hand?' (2021)
