Sweet Unrest

Sweet Unrest met in 2022 - and stumbled upon an other-worldly musical chemistry. Each inspired the other to play in a way they never had before. “A constant source of joy and amazement” - Steve Lamacq Dani Jam (Drums): the heaviest drummer this side of the Milky Way. Leon Theo (Bass): A precocious multi-instrumentalist, and the baby of the band. Tom Waller (Rhythm Guitar): a city slicker turned rocker with a penchant for Punk. Marlo Richards (Lead Guitar): A Cali surfer who’s confused by everything other than music. Jack River (Lead Vocals): Writer/poet that generally flails around the stage stealing the limelight. Together, they value the art above all else. “We’re here to make tunes that put shivers on your spine and coals under your feet. The music is made for its own sake, not as a means to any kind of end. Frankly, we need to make it to feel ok, and that’s why it’s all here.” - Jack River. They’re fans of chaos and fans of poetry. To them, poetry isn’t restricted to words on a page, because language alone is limited. When paired with music, the words morph and wax, until they articulate feelings we all share, in a way that’s impossible with words alone. The first vinyl, Falling For You / Peace of Mind, was released by No Distance Records on May 17th. It’s stocked in Rough Trade and a few more record shops around London. Falling For You hit #12 on the vinyl charts in October 2024.
